enter projects fuses 3D technology with local craftsmanship for vikasa yoga HQ in bangkok

enter projects, a design firm based in thailand, has completed the headquarters of a bangkok-based yoga brand. the project, photographed here by edmund sumner, takes the form of a 450 square meter space that comprises a series of free-form yoga pods as well as a lobby and restroom facilities. working alongside local craftspeople, the design team realized all elements of the project using natural materials. these include thai hardwood, rattan, palm leaves, and local black slate.

the project serves as the headquarters of yoga brand vikasa, and is a manifestation of the company’s principles regarding health and wellness. floor-to-ceiling windows on the front façade fill the space with natural light, while ensuring that the yoga pods remain private. using its signature geometries, enter projects combined 3D technology with local craft to bring nature to an urban context.

‘we sought to create a space which mimicked the natural world and reflected the never-ending cycle of life,’ explains patrick keane, design director at enter projects. ‘the result is a space of captivating calmness, cloaked in quiet contentment – an oasis of tranquility amongst the chaos of bangkok.’

aside from its core architecture, masterplanning, and interior developments, enter projects asia has recently launched a new initiative called project rattan. ‘we have been working with rattan for some time so it was a natural extension of our business and one that made sense in the current climate — supporting local people to get back to work quickly, giving them a chance to showcase their unique craftsmanship, using an entirely renewable material,’ continues keane.
