to me 'facets' has a very current design expression with it's faceted lines and different angles. the design came about as an investigation into how seemingly sharp angles can both create a visually exiting design while still providing an pleasantly soft and ergonomic grip. the two sloping surfaces on the handle itself supports both the palm of hand and the angle of the fingers naturally, while the diagonal line between the two surfaces responds to the curve of the gripping hand. when produced in a polished metal, the different reflections of light in the angles adds further to the visual impression of playing facets.
