generative handle by pechmann ferdinand from germany

this handle was created with a digital production technology that would allow the customer to design his or her own handle shape online. the 3d design is then converted into a series of flat, laser-cut, plates which could be delivered by mail to the customer who could then combine them to assemble the door handle.
this makes it possible to produce a custom designed product at a reasonable price.

the prototype material was paper but for hygienic- and fire-protection reasons actual productions would be made from fire retardant plastic.
