like many other creatives from across the world, mmm design studio has came up with an inventive response to the current COVID-19 health pandemic. their solution to providing personal protective equipment to medical staff and key workers is the ‘ANYTHING’ face shield. as the name implies, the mask is designed to be used with anything that’s around you, from a used bag of pasta, to an empty packet of haribo sweets.

the frame of the face shield takes the form of a pair of glasses with large clips at the top and bottom, into which you can insert your chosen transparent material. the frame itself can be 3D printed, and then carefully cut out and fastened together. the main idea behind the design by mmm design studio is to allow the clear material to be quickly and easily replaced should the shield become damaged or contaminated.
based in incheon, south korea, mmm design studio is an industrial design company. the studio is formed of pak kitae, park sangyong and park sunwoo.
