uri a door handle for every day use by goettler franz from germany
designer's own words:
uri is a door handle for private households. the concept explores the modality of using a door handle in every day life. in daily routine, we cannot always use the handle with our hands, but often utilise it with our elbows.
for that reason, the handle is optimized for this alternative way of using, still respecting the ergonomic demands for the use by hands. the design intention is to produce a filigree, but solid-state object with the form being influenced by the 'hands free' usage.
the surplus of a wall protector and the improvement of ergonomics can be achieved by adding soft-touch plastics like tpu to the basic stainless steel version.
