designer's own words:

in the area of rehabilitation engineering the topic of opening and closing doors comes up often. as a student of the above mentioned area we are aware that it is common knowledge among rehabilitation professionals that handles with a part bending backwards are easier to use for people with upper limb disabilities. on the other hand not only being easy to handle/hold is important but to make it work by little force exerted on it. most handles fulfilling the criteria collected are kind of frugal by their look. based on this idea the concept „laccio” was created after finding the best suiting, ribbon-like shape (that also has a part bending backwards) and calculating the right proportion based on anthropometric data.
we projected as an aim to ourselves that our handle should be processed by similar technology and from the same material quality than other colombo handles to fit the present manufacturing conditions.
to sum all above this concept can offer a much better aesthetic experience than the handles made earlier for a similar reason. By hiding its special characteristic with the design and by having an extraordinary but simple, easy-to-match shape it can easily be placed into any environment.
