samir sadikhov conceptualizes an even more utilitarian hummer H1

driving on from his rendered aston martin DBC and reimagined tesla cybertruck, samir sadikhov has now reinterpreted the original hummer H1, also known as the humvee. the concept retains the ‘cool character’ of the original – which stopped production in 2006 – but visualizes it for the modern day. the renders were revealed ahead of the highly anticipated electric hummer, which is rumoured to be on the horizon for 2020.

samir sadikhov’s hummer H1 redesign most notably adds armour plating to its jeep wrangler base. it ensures the concept keeps in line with the original’s iconic design, retaining the low-slung stance and incredibly wide presence. the front also includes the renowned seven-slot grille and square-slotted LED lights, but overall the digital designer was able to evoke a utilitarian elegance despite its blocky, rigid form. sharp recesses across its design, from the window frames to door handles, all sit atop four enormous wheels.

building upon the original’s versatile use, the conceptual design includes more modern structures to support fittings and accessories. the trunk area specifically features a removable hardtop to house off-road accessories, camping gear and more. excess equipment can be slung atop the flat, wide roof with rail supports.
