merzproject has been hired by the city of st. johns, arizona to assist in the revitalization of the small town by conducting a feasibility study, cost analysis and design of one of its oldest buildings. recently the historical patterson automotive building was donated to the city. it is a 70 year-old adobe and wood truss structure that is centrally located, making it prime for the bustling downtown environment city officials hope to create. despite its structure, the building has experienced extensive weather infiltration and dilapidation over its lifetime. hence, merzproject was brought on board to determine if a renovation would prove more cost effective than building new at the edge of town. after careful consideration, it has been decided that the patterson automotive building is to house the town’s new city hall, housing all the functions of the city administration, council chambers and community rooms
