2 han

2 han by antonio gardoni from italy

designer's own words:

2 han
a door handle made with two handles remotely looking like a pair of pliers.
the upper handle rotates simultaneously with the lower one to open the door (no need to push the lower one). the lower handle can be used to lock the door and it will unlock automatically when pushing the upper one, in this case it will be possible for safety reason to unlock the door from the outside with a special key matching the two small holes positioned on the cylinder’s cap.
the section of the two handles it’s shaped in order to be parallel to the door’s panel where fixed to the mechanism’s cylinder and parallel to the floor where pushed with the hand.
all the different components are on purpose in line, positioned on different levels to underline their individual character and are all meeting in the simple cylindrical shape where the slotted spindle is placed.
