the concept addresses the problem of continuity of form. the key to the concept is using round edges so that the handle seems to be shaped by a continuous ribbon. the idea of the visible joint treated in the same way, with round edges, is to mark the articulation and to keep the continuity of form when the handle is turned. this design includes a custom shaped rose that would better express the idea of continuity of form between the handle and the rose making it seem a single sculptural form. i have also presented, in the last image of soft edge_1, the same idea but with less expression using a regular square rose. the manufacturing process may involve casting, sawing, grinding, polishing and anodising. the proposed material is anodised aluminum.
