orbit’s design was inspired by the solar system and the orbit of the planets. the shape is modern, bold and is a focal point. the materials also set this design apart from other handles by using porcelain and pear wood within the design. this creates a variety of experiences not normally associated with door handles. the porcelain handle would make it seem delicate, precious and cold to touch, while the pear wood will age through its use.

manufacturing would need to be diversified due to the new materials. The porcelain handles would need to be cast, glazed and fitted. Similarly the pear wood handle would need to be cut, laved and fitted. However the body would be manufactured in processes currently used by Colombo.
