COLOMBO DESIGN does a marvellous job of designing door handles, yet today it is not only design, but technology that attracts the discerning client. My idea is to create a line that discards the norms while at the same time creating a more solid and useful device for opening and closing doors. The answer is high quality polycarbonate materials that can be formed in any shape, lit from inside by LED technology to present a never-ending possibility of shapes and colour.

While using the basic designs with some adjustments I hope to illustrate the exciting manner by which not only each handle can conform to interior design, or whim - but that this re-design can also act as a sort of safety device - lit either 24 hours per day or at night, the knob is its own beacon for we “fumblers in the dark”.

The technology is herein illustrated as well, with micro LED bars there is little or no concern about heat from the LED themselves. LED also draw low amounts of electricity and can last for years on a single set of batteries easily changed by accessing the containment tube the LED bar is at most ONE INCH in length and therefor can fit in any design.

Colours are full spectrum and designers can open their souls to create new and magically interesting forms and colour combinations that do not disappear in the night.

These are premium products and can also be designed without the use of LIGHT - but the idea is to use the light the bring focus to a new and hopefully wonderful idea for the tired door handle.
