since the initial spread of COVID-19, protective equipment has become harder to find due to the increased demand. with hospital and medical staff on the frontline of this pandemic, they are facing the most significant risk as they work tirelessly to save patients’ lives. with this in mind, local interior bureau has responded with a design that provides quick and easy protection.

funded by bandung institute of technology, the design uses 0.3 mm polycarbonate sheets that are laser cut into one single piece. this technique offers quicker production times than most regular or 3D shields, and as a result, cheaper costs, allowing more masks to reach more medical staff.
