designer's own words:

flux innovates by putting in evidence aspects that are hidden in most of door handles. flux is proud to be a mechanical piece! Its design is about perceived quality and perceived precision, prestigious finishings composition and design details… flux challenges the door handle value, inviting the user to a new experience during opening a door.

regarding shape; geometrical forms balanced with smooth surface transition in the grip internal handle area. flux shape celebrates function, materials perception and the pleasure of touch - a good balance between functional and emotional aspects.details were carefuly conceived to a tell story about excellence on design and performance. Materials, a sophisticated composition between gloss and matt, chrome and silver, differentiating user touch areas from structural ones.

part 2: components description;

the esthetical handle set is composed by a handle (1), which is the rotational part, the basement (2) and an extra outer thin ring (3).

the basement (2) itself, is composed by a plate and an additional half cylinder (welded into the plate). The estethical function of this half cylinder is to create a visual disconection between base and handle when its operated to highlight mechanical, functional aspect of the handle.

for the same reasons, the recessed graphical cross icon allocated in the handle front part adding a semantic value (precision element ) and detail enrichment.
