designer's own words:

Love & Hate has been inspired by a brass knuckle-duster.
An object of unquestioned strength, a symbol of violence itself.
Its aesthetic, in my imaginary, was perfectly suitable to be transformed into something else.
Into something that, with a new interpretation, according with the competition brief, could assume a completely opposite meaning.
It’s interesting to think how metaphoric the act of opening and closing a door is, in the collective imagination.
Opening a door could also represent the act of opening ourselves to others, to an exchange of emotions. Clearly, to close it, brings to the opposite meaning.
More than this, two sentences in particular caught my attention and could be related to this project bringing a contribution of a conceptual meaning.
From the New Testament God said “I AM the door”.
In a recent Italian song I heard:” We came to blows until we loved each other”.
In my mind all these inputs mixed one another giving birth to the idea of Love & Hate project.
