The intention behind ‘VOLO’ [to fly] was to create a mixture of a door handle and knob with a design that permitted the opening of
the door from any angle. Using an abstract interpretation of a bird’s form, this sculptural product has sufficient volume to enable
a user to grasp it like a Knob, or to use it as a conventional handle. It is a simple and ergonomic form designed to give tactile pleasure in its utlitiy, and uses the bird as metaphor in relation to the journeys we undertake by traversing from one place to another.
