craig green reinterprets puffer as colorful inflatables for moncler genius

craig green was among the eight designers to create capsule collections inspired by the iconic moncler puffer jacket. debuting at moncler’s extensive 2020 genius collection during milan fashion week, the british fashion designer reinterpreted the brand’s iconic expression as a series of monochrome designs resembling padded samurai armour and brightly colored inflatables.

injecting flat sheets with down quilting, craig green uses a series of zips that allow the body to inhabit the garments and give them volume. further defined by outlines printed on the outside, each piece is clad in ripstop nylon, a light-weight nylon fabric with interwoven ripstop reinforcement threads in a crosshatch pattern.

‘I have always explored ideas of protection and functionality within my work, something that is also at the core of moncler’s heritage,’ says green. ‘I thought it would be interesting for these ideas to be pushed further, interpreting moncler’s performance based history, and developing desing s with their years of technical knowledge and expertise.’

moncler also launched a new collaboration with luxury luggage brand rimowa, unveiling a new travel concept titled ‘reflection’. it centers around a custom-built app and a limited edition aluminum suitcase featuring an led strip that can be customized with a personal statement.
