UNKNWN and NIKE host female-led super bowl themed pop-up in miami

ahead of super bowl LIV in miami, UNKNWN wynwood hosts a multi-sensory pop-up ‘created by women for everyone’, in partnership with NIKE. the female-led experience — comprised of customization workshops and fit club training classes — celebrates women over the super bowl weekend, and releases exclusive NIKE women’s air max verona. miami native female muralist jessy nite was commissioned to transform the store’s basketball court into a vibrant NIKE-themed football field. 

UNKNWN is a retail destination and culture creator within the worlds of arts, fashion, sports, and music. during miami art week 2019, the company opened its new 10,000 square-feet store designed by new york sunshine’s john margaritis. see designboom’s previous coverage here.

best known for her large scale outdoor text installations, jessy nite takes over UNKNWN wynwood’s 6000 sq. ft outdoor courtyard. nite uses similar color palette as the exclusive NIKE air max vernona to decorate the space. along with a customized football goal posts, nite playfully writes out the phrase ‘first and everything’ along the blank wall, behind palm trees.

‘this has been an incredible honor,’ comments artist jessy nite. ‘I wanted this special piece for UNKNWN and NIKE to reflect miami from my point of view as a local. there is a tropical burn-out vibe with gradient colors throughout, even on the goal posts. I’m well known for geometric patterns in my art and it was fun to interpret my style as a football field. UNKNWN wynwood’s courtyard space was born as a basketball court so it was fun to flip into a whole new sport and bring it to life for everyone to enjoy this weekend.’
