a petition on change.org to make the silhouette of kobe bryant the new NBA logo has garnered the support of nearly 3 million people. initiated by 16-year-old nick m. — who said in a tweet that his original goal was to collect 100 signatures — the request appeals to the national basketball association to update the existing brand identity, which currently features the outline of former los angeles lakers player jerry west. as of january 29, 2020 at 10AM EST, more than 2,711,109 people have signed the now-viral petition, seeking to pay homage to the legendary athlete following his tragic and untimely passing.
