designer's own words:

In the world, 4 billion pounds of plastic water bottles are discarded in the landfills or left as litter every year, this is due to the fact that the bottle is not designed for reusability in mind. Although it may be reused the notion of refilling a plastic bottle with tap water is deemed to be un-safe, un-cool and after awhile the bottle starts to smell due to bacteria build up, thus the reason for throwing away the bottles. A staggering 17 million barrels of oil is used to create these bottles annually, so the challenge is to design a water bottle that is reusable, easily washable, functional and aesthetically pleasing.

The answer is the Capsule, a portable water generating sports bottle designed to draw moisture from the air and turn it into drinking water. The intended users are cyclists from all cycling disciplines. Capsule allows the riders to continue riding, generating water as they ride without having to stop to find a tap and refill their bottle when it is empty or worse to ever buy bottled water.

A condensation piping system combined with a peltier element powered by kinetic energy, cools air to a temperature at which it becomes saturated with water vapour and begins to condense. The water then passes through a carbon filter and collected in the 500ml capacity bottle ready for consumption.
