designer's own words:

My father’s passion for the natural world has had a strong influence on me. Taking photographs in the natural world and visiting botanical gardens has always
been one of her family rituals. The greens of nature and the colors of flowers bring her great joy; nothing man-made can compare to its beauty and grace. Away to bring the natural world into the urban environment is the goal of my project, FLOA. FLOA derives from “Flowerpot” and the Korean worlds for “DAD”, the inspiration for my concept. FLOA is dedicated to my father who had major surgery on the day I presented it and I hope that he will recover as I develop this concept.

FLOA nests all different sizes of flowerpot, so that you do not have to spend time looking for bigger pots as similar ones. You can add more soil as the plants grow and their roots need more space. When a new life comes into to the world, it needs to be cared for by someone.A baby starts to crawl and walk, and learns about the society and the world. To mature properly, a child needs sustainable of many types. We all live to be loved by someone and to love others. The life cycle is the same for plants and flowers. The tiny flower seeds sprout, and slowly grow and bloom into the beautiful flowers. FLOA often aesthetically beautiful, the containers that provide plant-friendly environment in which to grow a personal garden.

FLOA is a flower created by a set of concentric pots, which accommodate the growing plant and reference the growth rings of a tree. More than simply an object to see and enjoy, this flowerpot holds precious life that must be nurtured and cared for with a loving heart.

floa3.jpg The shape of the Growth Ring is very organic and conceptual. It follows the Growth Ring pattern of the tree and it looks like the flower. As more units are added, the whole thing looks like a blooming flower.
