designer's own words:

This design includes a lounge chair and wall elements (tiles/wall decoration). The chair is created out of 10 bamboo panels. One side of the chair shows an interesting feature created by overlapping chair panels with different cut out patterns. These patterns are inspired by the tiny veins on a leaf. It reminds us on how marvellous nature could be. The other side of the chair has big hollow cut outs that act as a storage unit, thus giving the piece a second function. This chair is design to be made out of bamboo boards. Bamboo, being the worlds fastest growing woody plant, is a highly renewable, biodegradable and recyclable material. A cutting plan is also designed to keep the waste to a minimum when cutting the chair panels out of a standard size bamboo board (1200mmx2400mm). All the off cuts are slightly shaped and could be turn into wall elements (tiles/decoration), resulting very little waste produced.
