designer's own words:

The ziv is named for its awareness and continued stride to a greener life style, a two passenger vehicle designed specifically for the busy urban environment. ziv or Zero Impact Vehicle is just that, the entire vehicle and its components are designed to be manufactured using only recycled or reclaimed materials. As well a Hydrogen fuel cell is the power plant to this concept, and as its only by product water, the liquid is collected for later use in a holding tank. Nevertheless what truly makes the concept of the ziv really important is its use of no moving parts in the propulsion design. I say propulsion because its just that, magnets like those found on the rails and cars of a maglev train are used to suspend a tire around a rim and provide all propulsion and braking control. The rim is stationary and the tire travels around it. The levitation magnets located directly under the tire act as shock absorbers as well, the fuel cell transfers more power to the magnets stabilizing the vehicle as it travels across rougher terrain. The two tires which then suspend the cab allow the vehicle to have truly zero radius turning capability, allowing for easy parking and navigating on the busy streets of the city.
