A sustainable lamp, starfish, is designed with recycled wire hangers. The wire hangers are very obtainable in daily life. Therefore, most people have them more than they need and throw them away easily. However, starfish lamp provides us a direction to overcome the serious environmental issues that we are currently facing. Starfish lamp is inspired by a starfish that revives itself. It is produced with recycled wire hangers and cable ties that we can obtain easily. Two wire hangers lean against each other face to face so as to build a module. Each module is jointed together in zigzags, forming a star-shaped lamp. Since the overall structure is made with truss structure, it is very stable and it absorbs physical shocks to protect bulbs and the frame from any occasional crashes. It is also designed to be used as both of floor lamp or pendant lamp as users want. Furthermore, since anyone can simply make starfish lamp with bulb and socket without any problems, it naturally leads people to participate the protection of environment.
