cafe on the shore of water open cut by anna serskova from russia

designer's own words:

Facility is situated in the park area, on the shore of water open cut, in the heart of polluted and noisy Russian industrial city.
Vehicles never appear in there, as well as dust or dirt. Noise is conspicuously low and air is sodden by art.
Aim is creation of clean space for public usage on the cliff of open cut in the picturesque place.
Architecture melts into environment through smooth bionic shapes and thus stresses structural lines of the lay. Existing trees are being saved. Facility drags around and slides amongst the caudexes of pines.
Functional partition overflows into the volumetric solution. In the facility are situated 3 separate café halls on the 3 separate levels. First and third café halls are open towards nature and their space can be easily transformed by screens spinning around its own axis. Into the frame of screens is set thick textile with ornamental picture of pines. Fences of the hall 2 and of the kitchen are creating array of wooden crooked ribs.
Café of summer activity.
Engineering technologies applied in the project:
- continuous cycle. Clearance of waste waters and repetitive usage by with the help of Living machine. It situated in the kitchen space.
- Usage of solar panels
Solar panels are placed around the slope on the construction situated above the pinels tops.
Amount of the solar panels is enough for generating power in the double rate for the demand of the café (lightening, water warming, energy for kitchen) and lightening of surrounding grounds.
