IKEA is to launch a minimal yet very user-friendly remote control for its SONOS symfonisk speakers on october 1st, 2019. measuring just 50mm in diameter and 18mm in height, the product has appeared on the french version of the swedish furniture brand’s website and is to be made available soon in the UK, however, a date for US shipping has not yet been confirmed. the small, puck-like device removes the need for multiple buttons with its simple controls. by pressing down on the remote, users can play or pause music, or navigate tracks back and forth. by rotating your finger on the surface, the volume can also be easily increased or decreased.

the remote control includes a magnet at the base of the design, allowing it to be easily mounted on wall surfaces. compatible with IKEA‘s symfonisk ‘table lamp’ and ‘bookshelf’ speakers, the device allows speakers to be controlled from any room in the house. the product will be available to consumers in both black and white colorways and is being sold for a very affordable €14.99.
