aston martin are building bespoke 'automotive galleries and lairs'

during monterey car week 2019, aston martin revealed a new design service for car enthusiasts and collectors that takes car ownership to a new level — and, judging by the recently unveiled renderings, that level could be underwater. according to the british car manufacture, the service — intriguingly titled ‘automotive galleries and lairs’ — allows people to create the perfect space for their car, whether that be a bespoke garage or a complete, luxury retreat.

complementing Q by aston martin, the marque’s bespoke personalization service for cars, ‘automotive galleries and lairs’ is for anyone who would like to create a unique bespoke garage — their own ‘automotive gallery’ — or, for the truly adventurous, an automotive ‘lair’ fit for a james bond villain. such clients will work directly with aston martin’s design team including chief creative officer marek reichman to develop their custom environment.

‘imagine a home or luxury retreat built around your car,’ says reichman, who designed the interiors of the 66-storey aston martin residences in miami. ‘picture creating the ultimate space to showcase your own automotive works of art. this is now achievable with this new offering. for the car enthusiast the garage is as important as the rest of the house and a bespoke auto gallery designed by aston martin that either focuses on showing off the car or is part of a larger, integrated entertainment space with simulators and such like, takes aston martin ownership to the next level.’

initial visualizations by obermoser arch-omo architecture illustrate a lair that presents cars as works of art in a subterranean setting. the chosen vehicle sits at the center of an extravagant design, surrounded by entertainment and leisure areas as well as living space for guests. ‘we are able to cover every requirement, whether it is to display single cars as pieces of automotive art or a full collection of cars in a private museum,’ says aston martin partnerships director, sebastien delmaire. ‘these spaces provide an opportunity for people to create their own unique world where they can share their passion for cars with their guests. the opportunities are endless.’
