designer's own words:

Presently existing public shower rooms do not cater to the needs of various users and are exposed to water wasting. In addition, the overall atmosphere is dark and unpleasant, and there is no consideration for the emotional element.

‘Shower garden’ is a public shower system. This system which is used in public spaces such as the beach offers three kinds of advantages.

Firstly, people can know how much water they have used intuitively. The faucet automatically measures the accurate amount of water used. The plant pictogram changes accordingly with the amount of water being used. Subsequently, people will pay only for the amount of water they have used. Therefore, this system encourages people to save water.

Secondly, the height of the faucets can be adjusted to suit the user. When people go into the shower room, a water faucet called the ‘shower ring’ is provided. Many ‘water pillars’ are positioned at various heights. People can choose any spot they want and put the ‘shower ring’ into the ‘water pillar’ they picked. So, even children and the physically-challenged people can shower conveniently.

Lastly, ‘shower garden’ provides vivid visual effect when it is being used. Once the water is turned on, green lighting follows the stream of water as if a plant is growing from the ground. This visual effect provides emotional satisfaction during the short time of a shower.

As a result, this visual rejuvenates people with serenity, refreshment and fun.
