With the world economy in recession and the credit crunch crisis, the-upper class is in for a change of lifestyle with immense fortunes disappearing…we have created a set of cutlery that could serve as a transition to help them through this difficult phase, between their previous use of expensive silverware and what the future holds for them: plastic forks, knives and spoons… The process –turning plastic items into silver—is opposite to what is usually done: taking expensive objects and creating a plastic equivalent. The sensation of holding down the weight of silver material and hearing it resonate on a plate, makes it feel instantly more valuable.

This is a replica of the common object known as a hammer, found in every household to hammer in screws, but we have changed its function and affordability by creating a luxury item made of maple wood and silver, which can be used as a nutcracker --making the simple act of cracking nuts more barbarous in a noble setting, bringing man back to his primitive nature.
