behold: the 'one foot taller' periscope glasses by dominic wilcox

reality is a funny thing that dominic wilcox loves to play with. so far he’s reminded us that eggs don’t have to be shaped like ovals, cars don’t have to drive, stained glass windows make great car windows, and children make just as good, if not better designers than stuffy adults. today, he’s tweaked perception again with periscope glasses that set the wearer’s visual perception a foot higher in the air.

sleek, functional — these specs would be the envy of any 19th century flaneur, and every short person at a concert. in fact, it was at a concert, staring empathetically at a short person unable to see the band’s performance that dominic wilcox dreamed up the simple solution seen here: ‘one foot taller’ glasses. the mirror in front of the eyes sits at a 45 degree angle, pointing up to a larger mirror looking outwards. each piece of mirrored acrylic was bent carefully and precisely so that the device works perfectly. never again will anyone have to stare at the back sweat of strangers as their favorite artist plays on stage.
