in an underground setting at salone del mobile 2019, sancal takes visitors through a journey of shapes, textures and colors. the stand sources inspiration and recreates the recognizable graphic architecture of turati station, which is a stop on milan’s metro 3 line. in this location, the brand debuts a similarly named collection by luca nichetto that is also a tribute to the station’s classic modernity yet fun, expressive character.

luca nichetto’s ‘turati’ collection is his first in collaboration with spanish furniture brand sancal. the four products each distinguish their own personalities yet share a common aesthetic language, which has been inspired by metro station’s architecture, graphics and textures. these pieces include the ‘next stop’ sofa upholstered with the new eco-friendly ‘zero’ textile by marie-louise rosholm, the ‘interchange’ bench, ‘meeting point’ pouf, and the ‘mind the gap’ rug.
within sancal’s dynamic station-like stand, the ‘turati’ collection is also joined by other singular new products from past ranges. the comfortable ‘alpino’ sofa by rafa garcía, multi-faceted ‘estante’ by juan ibañze, ‘tonella’ poufs by note design studio, a new finish for the ‘pion’ tables by ionna vautrin, and a curated selection of lifestyle objects from the ‘COSAS’ line are all featured.
