azzurra and davines' dreamlike universe of ceramics and hair at milan design week 2019

for milan design week 2019, the azzurra showroom in brera has been transformed by diego grandi​ into a dreamlike universe of large colorful spheres floating between ceramic constellations of advanced technological production. created in collaboration with hair care brand davines, with whom the italian ceramic company shares two fundamental principles – material and color – the ‘chroma’ project highlights the importance of beauty and individuality found in the products of both brands.

the collaboration marks azzurra‘s second year of participation at ​milan design week, and sees its showroom filled with abstract interpretations of manes of hair, combined with ceramic collections in new color palettes and finishes. the company’s latest collections are put in the spotlight, including the washbasins of the ‘elegance’ collection, which are presented in the new palette of the ​colors ‘1250°’,​ ​’luxury’ and ‘​le malteceramiche’​​ ​lines, while all azzurra textures and finishes are displayed stalked on top of each other on three poles within the brera space.

the washbasins of the ​’hera’​ line, designed by architect daniel libeskind (see previous coverage here), are presented in a preview of the ​’luxury’​ tones – a new palette developed by azzurra to further enhance its collections with tones of gold, rose gold and platinum. the finish is applied to the ceramic surface after the first firing, and fixed in place through a second high temperature phase.
