As one of the oldest existing astronomical observatories in the world, Beijing Ancient Observatory is now surrounded by high-rise buildings and wide highways constructed during the recent years of rapid urban development. Under the severe impact of heavy smog and light pollution, one can hardly see the once glorious starry nights.

This design tries to arouse environmental awareness, using a dome structure with both interior and exterior LED screens to project images imitating clear night sky scenes. By introducing this installation a piece of museum architecture can be reanimated to its original function.
