feastable by bethan rayner from kenya
designer's own words:
The ‘feastable’ is a collapsible table for dining and banqueting. It has many potential applications; a small apartment where compact living is essential, a restaurant or café that would require versatile seating arrangements, mobile catering, office function facilities, a grand picnic….
The tripod legs allow the individual tables to maintain stability on uneven ground, and when locked together there are no awkward legs between the knees of the diners. The sliding tabs level the tops as they sit next to each other, so a long row of tables will stand perfectly level. The legs hinge on a stainless steel connector and lock into the top with a bayonet-type system.
Materials: Iroko for outdoor use (could be plywood), stainless steel connector, sleeves and bolts and wire rope.
