smart forease+ cabrio gains contrastingly colored roof for geneva 2019

following the urban EV concept shown at the 2018 paris motor show, the smart forease+ is transformed with a dramatic, all-weatherproof roof for the 2019 geneva motor show. the flat fabric top turns the electric concept car into a classic speedster for the city. sharing a philosophy with the predecessor, it is an uncomplicated solution for urban mobility that is individual, dynamic and sustainable.

the smart forease+’s exterior design adorns a matt soft coal that emphasizes its clean and clear surfaces. this also helps create a contrast with the rough amber-colored roof that stretches downwards to meet the duck tail spoiler at the rear. the light, robust and yet suitable all year round roof is complemented by two cut-outs at the back and a lack of side windows. this helps ensure the pure and highly emotional driving experience recognized with the smart brand.

the playful contrasting of design details continues in the interior of the EV. the instrument panel is covered in a rough amber-colored nappa leather, which matches the roof. distinctly different to that element, the seats are decorated in a black nappa leather. the refined materials continue across the cabin with the steering wheel, door sills and beltlines all covered with microfiber in anthracite.
