the plate was designed from a personal experience of trying to serve a cup of coffee without spilling the coffee and making a mess.
In order to do that I designed a plate with a decorative embossment in the center of the plate, so that when the coffee spills it creates an esthetic stain. the cup sits above the coffee stain and when you take the cup the embossment is reviled.
