morild by kristine bjaadal from norway

morild (norwegian for phosphorescence) is a furniture collection consisting of three elements; seating, table and computer station. the sides of the elements are mirrored angled, so that it is possible to create curves when you place several of them next to each other. the tops of the elements are made in 12mm white corian, the sides in 6mm translucent coloured corian. the elements are lit from the inside. this way the sides are accentuated as glowing areas in the landscape you compose.
morild was, as the perspective pictures describe, originally drawn for the waiting area in a ferry terminal in oslo, where most of the traffic is after sundown. but it would also be suitable for public places in general, especially places with dimmed lighting.
morild is not only a furniture collection with a practical function; it will be the focal point of the room as a giant, glowing, atmospheric sculpture.
