This proposal is about ubiquitous technology, the connected home, and economy of space. Todays kitchens are for not only cooking, but gathering, socializing, and entertaining. Recent advancements in wireless data transmission are allowing us to stream content throughout the home, and the kitchen should be considered. This project defines a space within the kitchen for wireless music: the range hood. I propose using the cavity within the range hood to house speakers, and a wireless router, thereby integrating your home audio system into the kitchen, invisibly and seamlessly.
