This unit is a combination of traditional furniture modules as sofas, shelves, work and entertainment centers, all in a unique design. This concept of multifunctional furniture is intended to fit the needs of day by day activities of teenagers: studying, relaxing, and playing. Assembly description: The two seats have mattresses covered in Teflon fabric (1). On the outside of the seats there are mobile armrests that can be used as bookshelves (9). In the round part of the armrests are refrigerating tubes to hold soda cans (11).In between the seats there is a center module (2). The center module has one enclosure for a computer (3) and one for a game console (4). On the side of the module is a sliding table (10). The backboard has an aluminum rail (7) on which can slide an aluminum frame (6) which holds the TV/ LCD monitor (5). The frame can lift up and down and slide in front of each seat. Sliding top lights can adjust and provide the proper amount of light. Flat panel speakers (15) on the backboard would enhance the quality of the sound. This furniture can be used in three distinct configurations based on teenager’s activity.
Study - Configuration: In this mode, two teenagers can study at the same time. One can use the computer, (with a cordless mouse and keyboard) with the screen in his desired position, while the other can use the sliding table for homework or a laptop. In this mode the mattresses are in an upright position.
Play - Configuration: In this mode the mattress is in a slanted position, with the under seat sliding box pulled out a bit for a more relaxed position. The LCD screen is in the middle and lifted up so both can enjoy either watching TV, or playing video games. The magazine rack (12) can hold favorite magazines, and DVD games and movies are stored by CD/DVD racks (14).
Relax -Configuration: In this mode the under seat sliding box is fully pulled out and the mattresses are laid out. The under seat supports can also serve as storage cubbies. On the sides of the center module are niches for alarm clocks and two reading lamps (16). This is perfect for reading in bed without disturbing the other person while sleeping.
