korean design studio FICT reveals ‘nacre’, a transparent table focusing on the elegance of mother-of-pearl, the beautiful texture made by nature and traditionally used in korea. made of crystal resin and acrylic, the piece highlights the preciousness of the aglint material, while minimizing other elements.

the structure is very simple – two transparent acrylic plates are connected by three resin legs, in which the nacre is enclosed. the designers have placed pieces of nacre into resin chaotically, so the reflection of light is different for each of them. the spectrum of colors may widen or narrow depending on the lighting of the surroundings.
