‘philosophy’, 2008

richard slee has been working as a studio ceramic artist for over 30 years, and was one of the first ceramicists to call into questions those boundaries. the humorous and rather eccentric body of work contains a variety of animals – including appropriated rabbit which slee found in a junk shop and had to make a ceramic model of it to understand it. richard was the winner of the 2002 jerwood prize for ceramics, the major british award in the applied arts.
