designer's own words:

JAK is a dual function chair that can be manoeuvred into two positions to accommodate a variety of tasks and moods. Its versatile nature can assist the user during work, rest, play and relaxation.
Inspired predominantly by the classic Le Corbusier ‘Chaise Longue’ and the more contemporary ‘Lazy Boy’ chair as used by ‘joey’ in the TV programme ‘Friends’, JAK is easily adapted to be used as a ‘lounger’ or a chair.
The “laid back” pose of both positions reflects the way in which a typical teenager addresses’ furniture and holds posture in a modern day society.
The simple lines of the JAK flow through three consistent angles to link the base with the top thus producing an uncomplicated, stylish item of furniture.
