designer's own words:
The kitchen is the heart of the contemporary home – it is vital and ever-changing. At times it is a place to sit alone, relax and warm up a take away meal. At times it is a factory that produces exquisite 5 course meals, and at times it is a place to hang up with friends and cook together.
Kitchen’s countertop, on the other hand, remains fixed and unchanged. Fragmented by the stove “hot zone” and the electrical appliances zones, wired and entangled, it can rarely fit the specific need of the moment.
We suggest one uninterrupted surface, dotted with one-touch electricity supply elements that enter directly the appliance (toaster, kettle, blender, mixer, coffee maker…). As part of this new line of adapted electrical appliances, the stove is remodeled as a one unit removable device. Thus, removing a major fixed obstacle of the present kitchen counter, leaving the kitchen working surface for a constant play of mix and match, add and remove. It introduces an alternative concept of cooking and using the working surface in the kitchen. The organization of the work in the kitchen will not be according to the position of the appliances, but according to functional needs. Instead of cooking in one zone (the stove), mixing and blending in another one, one can organize work according to the different courses, the person in charge etc…
