Concept
Current researches suggest a change of values concerning food and food preparation which can be seen in all social enviroments.
The individual is today and in the future more interested in spending more time on the preparation of a meal, and he looks for a working enviroment wich provides uniquess, communicativeness, naturalness as well as one which is gourmandtle. Cooking and other activitis, wether done alone or with others calls for free standing platforms. Working with one´s face to the wall cuts down the level of communication.
The kitchen should be a meeting place for all family members and so it is also a centre of communication. The unique element of this concept is it´s separation of food preparation and food storage into two distinct entities. In this case, it is felt that storage should be addressed as a separate design problem.
System
The working area is divided into a cooking unit, a washing unit and a preparation unit. The formal division into three units and their variability increases user flexibility. One unit, preferably the cooking unit is fixed while the other ones can be rotaded around it, thus giving different configuration possibilities to suit different working requirements.
The customer is given the freedom to choose the manner of arrangements of various unit´s functions, as well as the surfaces for different cooking and preparation methods wich can be combined.
To accommodate various people, each unit has an individual height adjustment which varies from 85 to 97 cm.
The circular form allows use from all sides and it is rotatable by itself. The user has a variable system with widespread possibilities, for example the preparation unit can be used as a table for breakfast or small snacks. The out-side ring can be used as a support for baskets or cooking tools.
Function
The height adjustment is achieved via an electric motor. The motor is seated revolving on a ball bearing and regulated by a two position switch.
The revolving steel sleeves of the column are seated over a teflon-covered glide bearing, the inner sleeves are armed with five teflon strips to improve the gliding.
All pipelines are seated in the connecting axis between the working units; they are separated by double chambers. In a fixed cooking unit, installation of the supplying pipelines are connected to the floor. The washing unit has got the waste water pipeline with an odour fastening as revolving axle.
The pedestal ring can be screwed off for repair. The position of the legs, rectlinear to the connecting axles, depends on the position the unit is in.
The wheels of the preparation unit can be locked by means of brakes and thus the whole system is fixed.
