frosted images by justus slaakweg from netherlands
designer's own words:
Images as part of interiors, caught in crystals on the wall as icy flowers on a frosted window. A tile which enables crystals to become part of the interior, in a flexibleway with a durable solution. Crystals are glued in countersunk holes in glossy tiles made of polyster resin. With the pattern of these countersunk holes geometrical patterns of circles or straight lines can be made, but also images and photos can be 'caugth' using the random pattern of holes.
Polyster resin tiles can be made very precise to ensure a good attachement of the crystals. The tiles are finished with a white gelcoat, easy to clean and very durable. The countersunk holes are 1,5 mm. deep. Deep enough to glue the crystals in, but not to deep, the pattern of holes will not disturb the image or pattern created by the crystals.
