the future of fashion could be skin-deep — literally — at least that’s what publicist simon huck and his live entertainment storytelling brand society of spectacle is positing. ‘A.human’ is a collection of body modifications, not clothing, that will premiere on september 5 as part of an immersive, theatrical art experience in new york. at the ‘A. human’ venue, visitors can ‘shop’ for biological heels that stem from their legs, and don larger-than-life body modifications — like elongated spines and bejeweled neck barnacles — in neon-lit fitting rooms.

the A. human experience comprises an immersive tableau of set design, technology, prosthetics, and live actors that seek to blur the line between reality and fantasy. guests can expect ‘a subversive playground filled with jaw-dropping sights, sounds, and experience.’ teaser images on the project’s instagram introduce objects like the ‘A. human corset SS19’ and ‘A. human nautilus, the first entry into our biological heel series’.

the collection is designed to give your body an ‘architectural makeover’, all while asking very real questions about society’s definitions of self-expression. the exhibition will also unveil collaborations with designers nicola formichetti, and makeup artist isamaya ffrench. A. human opens at 48 mercer street for 4 weeks, beginning on september 5.
