designer's own words:
Lotus Industrial Lamp is an functional prototype – a model made of acrylic and cardboard. In the production version such materials as aluminium, acrylic and polyoxymethylene (POM) should be used. Lotus is a decorative lamp, lighting is a secondary function.
There is a lot of lamps based on the shape of the lotus flower. The presented lamp, however, is distinguished by solutions other than commonly found. These are:
the lotus petals are made of steel or aluminium, painted and perforated according to a specific pattern.
the lotus leaves are made of one sheet of metal and are perforated as well
both leaves and petals constitute a heat sink for the power LEDs used in the lamp
the lamp is illuminated both up (body - core) and down - ground lighting.
the body of the lamp is made of rings – each of them lights specific petals
the rings have special elements forming ventilation slots for heat dissipation
the whole lamp consists of modules and is completely dismountable
Due to the above properties, it is possible to easily arrange many versions of the device – different colours of individual parts, their shapes, materials etc. The construction of the Lotus lamp allows many variants of electrical solutions such as computer LED control, remote control, etc. Thanks to the use of high quality materials, the appropriate mass and stability were obtained.
