heima architects challenges the minimum needs for comfortable living with a complex of four 25 sq.m micro-apartments in vilnius, lithuania. each apartment houses everything necessary for everyday life – a bed, a kitchenette, living-room area and even a bath – all in their minimized versions, but still comfortable to use.

as cities are getting more dense, and the demand for micro-spaces is radically increasing, heima architects has come up with various creative solutions in the search for a fresh attitude towards compact living. the four tiny studio apartments, located in vilnius’ ševčenkos loft district, use a palette combination of white and a single color, unique for each one of them, in order to emphasize shape and space. different areas are divided by ‘transformer’ furniture, including a bed that opens a walk-in wardrobe when lifted, and a dining table/desk that can be easily turned into a coffee table if flipped on a side.
