Memories of Matsuyama

Memories of Matsuyama by Luba from uk

designer's own words:

Memories of Matsuyama is a tea cup and saucer set which apart from it is original function can be used as a tool to create memorable art.
The work is inspired by flowers - there are so many of them in a field, or on a tree, but none of them is like the others, every single flower has its own personality. Even flowers produced by the same plant are all different.
In this work I tried to combine the uniqueness of a flower with traditional Japanese watercolour or ink art. Using tea as watercolour/ink and saucer as an ink stone one can create unique flower prints, which afterwards can be framed or send as souvenir postcards to friends.
The tea sets can be used in cafes and restaurants of Matsuyama, for customers not only to enjoy a lovely cup of tea, but also have an opportunity to create their own unique art, which they will always remind of their trip to Matsuyama.
The set also can be offered as a souvenir in gift shops.
Made of ceramic.
