batlab employs a system of translucent curtains to define different zones in this 30 sq-meter apartment in budapest. the symbolic separation of functions using moving textiles combines practicality and aesthetics, resulting in a lightweight, open space that overcomes its restricted size.

during the renovation, batlab demolished all interior walls, leaving only the apartment’s outline intact. a stand-alone block, which includes the kitchen and bathroom, functions as the main space divider separating the entry, living/dining room and sleeping cabin.
